REGIONAL TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION PROGRAM FOR BIOSAFETY AND BIOSECURITY PROFESSIONALS

Ministry of Health through National Public Health Laboratory, in collaboration with Africa CDC, launched the opening of training and certification program for Biosafety and Biosecurity professionals (Biorisk Management Level 1) held on 10th-14th July 2023 at the National Public Health Laboratory in Dar es salaam, Tanzania. The Director of NPHL, Mr Medard Beyanga and the Director of Programs at ASLM, Dr. Talkmore Maruta provided their remarks emphasizing on the plans to sustain the training centre. The opening remarks was conducted by Chief Medical Officer, Prof. Tumanini Nagu, Ministry of Health, Tanzania. During her opening remarks, Prof. Nagu showed her excitement to host the training due to factors that biosafety and biosecurity risks are important challenges that deserve attention. The Ministry of health is pleased to partner with African CDC and ASLM to facilitate and Coordinate the delivery of training sessions.
