WHO ARE WE

We are an accredited National Public Health Laboratory with unique certification number MED001 since 2014. We are leading implementers of quality management system with IEC/ISO 15189:2012. We offer a broad spectrum of clinical laboratory testing with the most accurate and diagnostically relevant results. We evaluate diagnostic equipment and verify diagnostic reagents to prequalify for use in diagnostic purposes within or outside the country.
We offer a wide range of clinical laboratory testing to include Microbiology, Parasitology, Clinical chemistry, Haematology, Serology, cell culture for viruses and molecular diagnostics for the purposes of providing information for the diagnosis, prevention, prognosis, research, surveillance and treatment of diseases. We are ASLM’s regional collaborating centre since 2012. Our laboratory is among the WHO recommended centre for prequalification of diagnostics since 2016 as well as a WHO designated National Influenza Centre. The Ministry of Health (MOH) have mandated our laboratory to oversee public health responsibilities in the country.
